AUCA Community Marks Kwibuka 32 in Solemn Commemoration

On Sunday, May 17, 2026, the Adventist University of Central Africa (AUCA) community gathered at the Masoro Conference Hall for the AUCA-Kwibuka 32 Program, a solemn event dedicated to honoring and remembering the victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. Reflecting this year's theme, "Twibuke Twiyubaka" (Remember-Unite-Renew), the morning was filled with powerful moments of reflection, prayer, and shared history.

The commemoration commenced with a wreath-laying ceremony at the monument, followed by welcome remarks from AUCA Vice Chancellor, Dr. Pacifique Nizeyimana. Attendees listened to a moving personal testimony from Genocide survivor Mr. Habyarimana Jean De Dieu (Mudende), and a public lecture delivered by Mr. JMV Ntaganzwa, DM-Gasabo District.

The event also featured:


  • Moving musical performances by the Ambassadors of Christ Choir.

  • A keynote speech by the Guest of Honor, Mr. Charles Karakye (PS-MINEDUC).

  • A symbolic Candle Lighting ceremony featuring 32 selected students carrying messages of hope and remembrance.


The program concluded with a closing prayer by Pr. Samuel Ngirinshuti, reinforcing the community's shared commitment to unity, healing, and continuous renewal.
